How we research

Our articles are built from editorial research, not from a claim of laboratory or field testing. We read makers' and retailers' own specifications, warranty and sizing information, and public customer feedback, then look for the practical details that matter on a trip: weight, packability, weather resistance, repair options, and the small frustrations that show up in repeat reviews. We compare those details against real travel use cases and say plainly when the evidence is thin or a recommendation depends on your style of travel.
